Privacy policy

This policy covers the CheckPrice Android app (“the app”) and this website, checkprice.world. In short: there is no account and no ads, your basket stays on your phone, location is optional, and we do not sell data.
What stays on your phone
Your basket, recently checked products, chosen city, currency, language and the place you set as “where are you” are stored only on your device. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it removes them.
Camera
The camera is used only to read barcodes. Recognition runs on the phone (Google ML Kit); no photos or video are saved or uploaded.
Location
Location is optional. If you allow it, the app uses it to suggest your city and to find the nearest shops. You can instead type an address or pick a point on the map, or not set a place at all.
To calculate walking and driving times and routes, the app sends your position rounded to about 100 m to the CheckPrice server. The server uses it only for that route, does not log it and keeps it at most a day in memory as a cache. When you search for an address or pick a point on the map, the text you type or the point is sent to the CheckPrice server, which looks it up in OpenStreetMap Nominatim on its own behalf; your IP address is not passed on.
Map
Map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap’s tile servers, which see your IP address like any website does. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
Wolt and Glovo
“Open in Wolt / Glovo” opens their app or website; from then on their privacy policies apply. If you choose to add a basket to Wolt, the app asks you to log in to Wolt; that login stays on your phone and is used only to put the items into your own Wolt basket. CheckPrice does not receive your Wolt credentials or orders.
Usage statistics
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which screens are used and how fast data loads (for example, that a product card was opened). These events are linked to a random app-instance ID, not to your name, e-mail or phone number. Google processes them under the Google Privacy Policy.
Prices and updates
The app downloads price lists, shop locations and World data from CheckPrice servers, and the version of the app downloaded from this site checks for updates there. Like any web server, they may keep short technical logs (IP address, time, requested file) for security and troubleshooting. These are not used to identify you and are not shared or sold.
This website
checkprice.world sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising. It is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver and protect the site.
Children
The app is a general-audience shopping tool and does not knowingly collect data from children.

We will update this page when the app’s handling of data changes; the date at the top shows the latest version.
